    Default tiller vs remote

I was looking at some boats earlier and found a tag on one boat that said:
    tiller max 25 HP
    remote max 45 HP

does any one know why there is such a difference?

It could relate to the way the boat is loaded ie. with a tiller you are sitting in the back of the boat. With a remote you would be sitting near the middle with more weight tward the bow.
I'll hold on to my Bible & my Guns, you can keep the change!!!

It's actually due to how the regulations are written regarding certification. Likely written to ensure control, not to improve balance. You can find those regs here if you're interested in how they are actually calculated.
