Default Good place to use a boat around Anchorage.

Ok. I am going to rent a 17 ft boat with a 90 hp motor for 1 day here soon to take my kids out to catch some nice lake trout. I would really love some input as to where a good place would be to take this boat where we can spend the day and catch fish. Ive scouted a bunch of local lakes like Kemplar but it seems to be motorless only and Finger lake looks decent but I dont know for sure.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There's always Big Lake, which gives you a lot more room to play. Last time I was at Finger Lake in the summer it was over-run by jet-skis and ski boats. Any fish in there were hiding.

Man, just thinking about it, I haven't been power-boating in fresh water in years....sorry, I'll stop talking now...lol.

Put some drinks in a cooler and lets go get some fish.
