Default Starry Flounder is Tasty Right?

I saw a bunch out while spearfishing today. Passed on most of them because I thought they were supposed to taste bad. Ended up shooting a big one to try anyway. After looking around online it looks like it the Arrowtooth that tastes bad. So Starry is good right?

Sweet. They were all over the place. Should be easy to fill up the freezer.

It's been a while since I've had one, but it was alright. If I recall correctly there were some tiny bones, but that might have been a bad fillet job, too. Otherwise, it was just a thin, light fillet.

Probably a subjective thing.......my experience is that taste is ok but texture is a bit toward the soft/mushy side vs tender. Ymmv.

    Default fish sticks

Fillet 'em like a halibut, roll in italian bread crumbs, fry in a little olive oil in frying pan til golden brown. Kids call it homemade fishsticks.

    Do tell how they tasted

Were you able to hold them down?

I remember when I had an uncle in town and he insisted we keep lemon sole. YUKKKKKKK!!!!

I'm guessin' Starry Flounder is just about as good . . .

Nope, totally different fish. People catch and keep starry flounder all the time. I'm sort of assuming they also eat them. There's even a seperate limit for them in the Kenai/Kasilof dipnet fishing as they are frequently caught accidentally.
