    Default making halibut weights

    I got a 5 gallon full of wheel weights. I was going to make halibut weights out of it, but they dont poor worth a crap. They tuen out all wavey. Has any one had experence doing this. A little advice would be great. I'm triing to poor 32 ounch weights.

    Hello,
    If they turn out too wavy, my experience is that the lead or mold is too cold. Have you tried heating the mold before pouring lead into it?

    anyone know where to get a 32oz round mold for halibut leads?

    I saw some at Sportsmans a few weeks ago. Arround 60-70 bucks if I recall correctly.

    there are some on ebay. 2lb. cannonballs search ebay sinker molds about 20 bucks plus $9 for shipping
