Default Upper Kenai float July 3rd with ChuckD

So I took ChuckD on his first upper Kenai float yesterday. What a day. Bluebird, shirtless, cold beverages and a couple of fish too. Reds were still pushing through but very sporadic and alot of them turning blush. Bows were all over but very very spooked with the high sun. I managed to pull 2 out in the 18 inch range and a dolly about the same. 1 Nice blackie still hanging around the bear braids. A nice Bald Eagle show about 10 feet away from us watching him snack away too. Chuck picked up the drift and mend for Bows very quick and worked the water all day. He hooked 3 on the drift but lost them. Great job for a first timer I must say. JohSWA you have some competition buddy. Now it is off to talkeena this morning to chase kings today.

Default A big thanks to AlaskaChuck!!!

I'd like to give a big thanks to AlaskaChuck for my 1st time on the Kenai. I had an absolute blast!!! I missed 3 decent chances at pulling in some fish while looking at the scenery. That, and I need to set the hook straight up, not sideways and maybe next time I'll get 'em.
AKChuck pulled in 3 nice fish and showed me where the fish were even if I couldn't get them to bite
A great day with a great guy (and teacher) on the water has me even more hooked on fishing. Wish we were staying.
Liv2fish, Megan, and Sam it was nice to meet you and big thanks to you too!
Here's a couple pics from the day on the water.
