Default Question about lakes closed year-round to fishing for salmon.

Ok, so I noticed in the regs that certain lakes are closed to fishing for landlocked salmon year-round. I'm fairly new to the area and I have done some salmon fishing on the Deshka/Russian/Ship Creek in 2002 while I was up here for the summer, so I understand how to target different fish while on the rivers, but lake fishing is something I'm looking to get more into. When I'm fishing a lake say like Big Lake for trout, how do I avoid getting a landlocked salmon?

The lakes I fished where I grew up really only had trout in them so there was really only one way to fish

the problem is there are no land locked salmon in Big lake. They are wild aslmon that enter through Fish Creek. So no fishing for spawning samon in the lake. I hope that makes it more clear.
It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.
