It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.

Almost always on the second Friday of July after 5pm - usually around 5:30 or so. I would guess July 10th, but it could be a week later if there are legal challenges or other such snafus.

hears my take on the spring draw,,

1 it won't come soon enough for most...

the tags will all be late...

2 the folks that whined about 20 moose last winter and draw tags this summer due to increased time frames will be sued and the draws will be re done

3 the ever increased conflict will result in moose hunting being shut down state wide while the fairness doctrine looks at length of residency at terms or settling all fairness issues,

    but i could be wrong....

    nontheless....

i bet we see at least 10 more threads started on when will the tags arrive.

And you can count on a thread or 2 by people wanting info on a tag they drew in which they did no previous homework. Happens every year but the good thing for the next draw session, there will only be 1 draw and we only have to put up with the whining and complaining for a short time.

Yep Vince, I especially love the "Draw results out threads early on the friday before, just to get everyone fired up.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how that one plays out. I'm surprised I haven't heard anything more about a court challenge...yet. In addition, it'll be interesting to see how many folks actually applied for it and what percentage get a tag. Heck, they haven't even given a ballpark figure of how many permits will be awarded, so there are tons of unknowns. I just applied for the bonus point this year, so I'll be eating popcorn with you.

I just applied for the bonus point as well. Gonna go caribou hunting elsewhere that is less hassle, less people, and equal cost to do the hunt.

I had mine postmarked on the 31st of May so when the draw rolls around in July, the wait doesn't seem too bad.

Every year!!! And it always seems to be the prized hunts where those of us who didn't draw had already figured out our methods to get there and sucessfully (or at least hopefully so) hunt the tag. Ends up that the people won't hunt for it since they didn't spend the 30 seconds it took to realize you couldn't drive to the hunt area or needed a boat that they don't have for access or things like that.
