What exactly is this? Is it a sponsored event at Campbell creek. I would love to take my kids if it sounds like fun.

It is held once a year, I think always the last weekend of June.Youth only, 15 and under can fish on Sat and Sun this weekend from 0600-10pm for kings in Campbell Creek, there is a section of the creek that is only available to fish for the time frame. I'll be taking my boy down and hopefully the kings are back in there for the kids to try there hand.
Hope everyone takes their little ones out for the weekend.

Can you help the kids set hook and land these or are they on their own. I have 5,7,8 yr olds who lack the good skillz to catch these beasts.
Also, what setup for it in gear?

Any help and input is appreciated.

Legally they have to hook the fish, you can help bring it in the the catch (hook set) must be done by them.

riding the campbell trail from dimond to c street i have seen quite a few kings stacked up in the holes....the king fishery at campbell creek is pretty solid.

Bait and multiple hooks are allowed. Pixies, Vibrax etc. If you don't have gear, ADF&G will have rods and bait at Taku Campbell Park.
