Thread: Fishing in Kenai Lake?

    Default Fishing in Kenai Lake?

I've gone through the regs and from what I can tell, there is no salmon fishing in Kenai Lake. Heading to Quartz Creek for a day and thought about taking my kayak and putting in the lake near where the creek empties into it. Saw in another thread about someone catching landlocked silvers there, but that may have been some years ago when regs were different.

You can catch rainbow trout and lake trout in kenai lake.
It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.

    Default the term

"landlocked" (silvers) applied to anything in Kenai Lake, would constitute an oxymoron. IMO.

True hard to be landlocked with a river to the sea.

I have only caught fish with bait. But if you put in some time you might catch one of the many fish in there. rainbows, lakers, dollies, and whitefish.

And if you believe old rumors maybe Sturgon.

I don't know about in the lake but I heard that just last weekend there were some big hairy ugly ones in a campground downstream of the lake.
