Default Moving to lower 48, firearms/ammo questions

I will ship my firearms with the movers, but do they ship the ammo as well?

    Thanks,
    Doug

On my last move they refused to ship any ammunition.

Maybe your mover will have a different take but I think its pretty common.

If it's a military move, (likely based on the function badge) they won't ship ammo, primers, powder or cases that have not been deprimed. I would imagine it's not the military rules, but rather the transportation of HAZMAT that makes the companies not ship ammo. Canada will allow you to transit with 2000rnds of ammo (no 25ACP or 32 ACP), just make sure you let 'em know you're driving all the way through and not visiting anyone along the way.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll keep the ammo with me.

i had a about 1000rounds shipped by the movers when I pcs'd......actually, I didn't know they shipped it I didn't even know I had it!!! I was unpacking and found this shoe box that I didn't recognize...sure enough...1000 rounds 45 acp. My buddies reloads that he left at my house...guess they didn't bother to look inside an extremely heavy shoe box....must a thought, "heavy shoes"...right...

anyway, to answer your questions.. no.. they won't KNOWINGLY ship ammo
