Where are the pics of the fire?
It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.

Come on PowderMonkey. Tell us the story about the fire. How it got started? What happened? We want play by play details? Did you save the day? Did you coordinate fire fighting efforts?

    Fish on!

I guess I can just throw this mega-doobie into that dry grass while I land it

I'm joking, of course. Looks like a good time (except for the inferno).

The fire was not doubie related...

    KDM:
A grass fire started Monday morning on Afognak Island after some trash escaped from the burn barrel of Alaska Department of Fish and Game researchers. No injuries or structural damage was reported.
The group was conducting smolt research along the Afognak River system, said ADF&G fisheries biologist Rob Baer.
The fire started around 10:30 a.m. and was out by 2 p.m., Baer said. After the researchers sent out the emergency call, ADF&G staff from Kodiak and smokejumpers from Fairbanks responded.

    Thats all I know...
