Default Skilak to Bings in a Canoe ??

Just wondering what the trip is like.

I've fished the upper alot and the lower alot, but have never been on that stretch of the river.

How's the water ?.....and how long does the trip take ?

    Thanks.

    Default good trip

    Skilak to Bings -

Its a nice trip. Depending on the wind and water level, there are about 5-6 hours of easy paddling time. For canoeing, its most enjoyable when the non-motorized rules are in effect for the swan sanctuary (till 6/15). Use is lowest in May/ June, picks up with the sockeye in July and is becoming increasingly popular in the fall for silvers and trout. All of which can be caught in season while on a canoe trip down.

If fishing, it can easily be a long all day event.
