    Default Iliamna

I got a request earlier to post some pictures from Iliamna.
I've been fishing almost every evening after work.

Thank you, Big_Dog! I must admit, I wasn't sure the angels in heaven would allow you to post pictures, giving a glimpse into what it looks like!

By the way, Saint Peter called -- he wants his keyboard back!

I'll be in that drainage Friday
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

Hmmm....maybe that's where we need to head for the 4th. I usually wait until around the 10th to head over there, but an early trip before the in-laws get here might be in order. Thanks for the report!

Great pics, thanks for sharing . Those 'bows are impressive, must have been a blast on the fly rod.

Last night there were several hundred fish backed up at the rapids. I am told by next week there should be thousands. so if you want to get here when they are thick then you may want to wait a week.

Well its been 2 weeks since I got to go fishing. Right at the peak of the reds, but work has to come first.

Managed to get out yesterday morning. Went to the landing to avoid the crowds. Had pretty good luck. only brought home 2 but could have limited easily. There are still plenty of good fish, but some are starting to turn now.

Heard that the silvers were showing up so I went down to the rapids to see if I could get a silver or 2. saw a few silvers but only managed to catch a 23 inch lake trout, but hay that was a first for me.

We pulled some nice lakers out of there this summer along with a ton of grayling. Great fishery.

Finally found a silver out here. I guess from talking to the locals they don't get a very big run out here.

Oh fantastic thread! I love the Grayling shots!
Thank God for people who don't fish!! Not much would get done without them =)
