Thread: outdrive repair estimate

    Default outdrive repair estimate

Just thinking worst case, here: what kind of charge should be expected to have bellows, u-joints, and gimbal bearing replaced on mercruiser bravo 3? Was hoping somebody had some insight into paying for such a job. Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Had this done on my Sea Sport a few years ago as AMDS cut the bellows when they installed the outdrive which allowed water to enter rusting everything.

I think the bill was $1,600, but again, that was a few years ago. Andy's Marine on Diamond did the work and he must of did it right as the outdrive has not given me a lick of trouble since.

Would guess it would run 1,800 - 2,000 today.

I think a couple grand is a pretty good ballpark estimate.
