    Default The Combat Fishing Report

Hope you all don't mind me posting fishing pics from Iraq, but here are a couple more. Went down to the creek today. Started with the regular dough bait for carp, but decided to actually try a fly today. Couple cast later and it was fish on. Pretty sure this one is a FOB Warhorse record. The second pose is for TSS. Ended up catching the one asp and another carp, both on a fly! The salmon best be feeling lucky I am not around this summer. Fish On!

What kind of fish are those? Your other pics looked like carp, but that one doesn't to me at least.

Thanks for volunteering so that others can enjoy life the way they choose to. Glad you are able to get some relaxation/fishing time in.

Well done Capt! Thanks for serving! I too wonder what kind of fish they are. i grew up on the mississippi, carp central and those look nothing like the carp i grew up catching and shooting wiht a bow. I am happy to see you got to fish a little on your deployment.

Yea this fish is not a carp, those were the last pics I posted. This fish is called an Asp. It reminds my of a speckled sea trout down on the gulf coast or a Snook. If you are not familar with that, it is also similar to a striper, but with no lines. I don't know if I can sleep tonight b/c I'm so pumped right now.

We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

That does look kind of like a little snook. I'm actually a little jealous. I don't really want to go there, necessarily, but I like catching new things. I think it's safe to say not many westerners have caught whatever you're catching.

Keep your tip up and head down!

I like your threads and I love the titles. I open them thinking I know what the thread will be and SUPRISE! Keep catching them and posting them
