AAARRRRRGGHHH! I have to work, work, work. It's times like this I have a twinge of regret that I have my own business. Maybe suicide run on Saturday night? I suppose I should check the regs first. Oh, a fishing license would help some also.

I'm so far behind the power curve this year.

    Default Reds at the Russian!!!!

At the Russian this morning for the opener. The fish were in thick. The water in places was black with them, only problem is, when the sun goes down, they stop moving. I watched them for two stinking hours jump, flash, and drift in the current waiting to drop my line in the water. I managed to only catch one, but there was some limits being taken. Good luck to everyone.

Limits are being reported - The fish are in thick this year. At least the reds are showing up -at least making up for their cousins (Kings) not showing at many of the local streams in this state...

    Default I'm there

Fishing the Russian Friday and Saturday.

I don't care if there's a fish in the creek.

    OK, that's a lie.

But at least I'll be FISHING!!!

    Default suicide run

did the first suicide run of the year with much success. got off work at 3:30 and was back in anchorage at 8:50. it only took 45 min of fishing to get 3 keepers. i hooked 5 others in the mouth and more on the body. i went upstream to avoid the crowds just like i always do. get out and enjoy what may turn out to be a great run of fish.

    tight lines

    Default Sockeyes!

I loved fishing the Russian, my buddies are there right now dragging them in we just chatted on the phone. That said, I have a container of brine FULL of sockeye caught here on POW by myself and brother in law. 20 minutes, no other fishers, life is good. I still love the Russian but don't miss the crowds. Good luck to all up there and remember to carry up your fish to save a bear! Or something like that...
