    Default Homer area for retirerment

I was just on a trip to AK and visited Homer. Both wife and I thought it may be nice place to retire. We like to hunt and fish and Homer sure has fishing options. Not so sure about hunting, is the hunting for birds (upland) and ducks good. How about big game.

Would likely go back south for a couple of months in winter and visit relatives and friends in FL and AZ.

    Any suggestions other than Homer?

    Thanks

You might look at the Hope & Sunrise, Alaska Area. One issue in Homer is drinking water. But Homer has a Hospital which is nice for the "Golden" years.

Homers great, if I didn't need to be in Anchorage for work, it would be on my short list of places to live.

Great fishing, and a great community. There is black bear hunting, some moose hunting, and Kodiak is a ferry ride away for blacktail deer hunting.
