cook inlet tidal corrections?
I have had hit and miss luck hitting the slack tide off anchor point. I have been told to base off the anchorage tide for the inlet waters, not Seldovia or Anchor ponit. Does anyone have any advice or tips on proper tidal corrections off these points?
There is a standard correction for time and size in most tide books. In the book that I use (2009 Southcentral Alaska Edition) I have found the Deep Creek times to be fairly accurate as it relates to Anchor point and so on. There will always be some variance related to weather, particularly wind. You will also find that the slack tide is particularly delayed as you go off shore. I find that about 5 miles out the delay is somewhere around 2 hours.
Hope that helps,
