Default Powerboats near the mouth of the Kenai

How far can a full-size boat (V8) go from the mouth of the Kenai upstream? Not sure where the KRSMA actually begins, and I'm looking at putting my boat in at the Port of Kenai for dipnetting.

    Thanks

Approximately river mile 4.0. That's downstream of the Warren Ames bridge just before the bend. Plenty of river below that to dipnet from your boat.
DNR has a sign up on the river bank marking the boundary for the KRSMA.
