Question Help Fishing Small Kids in Kenai/Soldotna please

I tried searching the forum, knowing this can't be the first time this was asked, but failed. If anyone can point me to a link to the same discussion, that would be super.

Friend of mine is coming to Kenai/Soldotna with his family this weekend and the next. 2 small boys, 3 and 5 I think. Looking to catch any kind of fish - anything at all, small enough not to scare them. Red salmon are too big. Able to travel outside of K/S area, but driving a motorhome pulling a big trailer, so closer is better.

Thanks in advance for helping me help the next generation of fishermen!

    Default Johnson Lake in Kasilof

Take them to Johnson Lake in Kasilof. Try soaking cocktail shrimp or single eggs beneath a bobber. This has small trout but typically lots of them. Try a forum search for Johnson Lake and you should find what you are seeking.

    good luck

You can also get online and check the ADFG website to see which lakes in the area are stocked. Johnson is a good call with a nice campground.
