Default Fishing by boat at Ship Creek mouth

For the last few years, I've avoided bank fishing at Ship Creek because of the crowds. I've heard of people fishing out of boat at the mouth. Is that as productive as fishing in the creek? I have an inflatable kayak that might work, but don't know about the currents, etc. and figure most people have outboards. Is using a kayak a bad idea?

I don't know if it is a bad idea, it depends on how good you are. It would help to have an anchor, that is how most of the power boats do it. I do know that some salmon magazine said that Ship creek was one of the top 10 urban kyak fisheries. Of course I don't know how many urban salmon fisheries there are.
It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.
