Default Need help in picking an conservation Organization

    Ok, I need help!!!!!
Can say to much about why I need this info but you all can figure it out with what's going with me. OK, I need to find a conservation.

I want to keep it in Alaska and find the hidden gem as conservation for Alaska. I can do Ducks Unlimited Alaska Chapter but would rather find a good small Alaskan Org that would benefit from TV exposure. Once I choose an Org. Here is what I have to do.....
Organization. Here is part of an email I got.

"You will then write an essay on what the organization is all about, some of the key roles it plays in conservation and what your involvement in the organization will be in the future and why."
Then from this point forward you will be competing in challenges and representing your chosen organization.

    Default Backcountry

Hunters & Anglers is headed by "bushrat" who posts on this forum. You might want to contact him.

Gary, forgive any naivete, but why not Alaskan Bowhunters Assn, which you represent already? Or are you looking for a "conservation" org not aligned with hunting per-se?

Phil, thanks for that thought. I'm co-chair of the Alaska chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers.

Gary, what exactly are the "challenges" and competitions that you'd be involved in; are they hunting competitions? Any org, before agreeing to that, would have to know more about what is involved.

Gary, are you gonna clarify just what the "challenge" and "competition" involves?

Many orgs, including the one I co-chair, would not endorse certain hunting type competitions between individuals. Interesting that ABA is not considered a "conservation" org.

Methinks you aren't giving enough info for folks to give you a good answer.

Hi Gary - I'm sure you'll get PLENTY of input on this one

Here is the organization that will get my time this next year, and for many years after that: http://www.growmoremoose.org/home.asp the Alaska Moose Federation (AMF) is doing some amazing things and could always use TV time to build their membership AND make the general public more aware of what to do and what NOT to do when it comes to moose in general.

Most likely you've already heard of them, but if not...call Gary Olson at (907) 336-6673 and see what you two can work out.

Yes...I have a thing for moose - been eating them since I could chew...guess they grew on me
