I finally have a little down time and after reading the other reports, I thought one from Whittier might be in order. The rock slide is a distant memory and things are getting busy. As everyone knows, the weather's been great compared to last year, and while there are an absolutely obnoxious number of P-cod around (too bad we're not downeast), May 09 seems considerably better than 08. Here are a few shots from recent trips.
It still feels a little early, but limits are the norm now and fishing's been good and is improving weekly. There are some nice fish around for those willing to put in the time. A little warmer and I think it'll really kick in...
So far we've had a few around a hundred and this behemoth 80 incher that my customer elected to keep and take back to the flatlands.
Tight lines from Whittier.
