    Default Wolves down

So heres the story on this one......my buddy Randy and I decided to sit our second bear stand last night, got in the stand at 2030 and started a honey burn till about 2115....started hearing things behind us about 2130 and decided to take a look and to our behold it was a good sized cow and a calf moose....at about 2145 after the moose had left I looked over at Randy and said that I heard something else coming up the same draw....sure enough there walked in a pair of black wolves....no **** hot on that cow and calf's trail...Now I was hunting with my bow...and Randy had my TC pro hunter...I told him I wanted to take the shot with the bow but as I reached for it he had already squeezed a round off at the lead wolf (male) dropping it in its tracks at 27 yards...the trail wolf ( female) ran back about 50 yards as I grabbed my TC from Randy not presenting me with a shot, as I stood there for about 3 minutes I saw her try to come back up the draw when she presented me with her front shoulder at 47 yards where I put one thru that shoulder droppin her...all and all a great night in the stand....enjoy

Ain't Alaska great!! You never know what your going to see sitting on a bait site. Congrats to you both, you've made that valley just a bit safer for the moose.

Talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity! Way to take advantage of it and get a couple of nice looking wolfs to boot.

    Default Nice job.

Good shooting bowtech. It looks like at least one might have had a bit of shedding above it's right leg? Is that right?

Way to go !!! Congats...........Did the female have any pups in her? Or signs of having a litter? The male looked a little grey around the muzzle, You think they were old or young?
