Shrimping Green Island/E Montague??
If weather holds thinking of heading out to Green Island and East end Montague this weekend, has anyone had luck shrimping this area? Hopping someone will throw me a bone here, assume setting steep and deep still holds true??
The farther east and south of Perry Island we have dropped pots, the worse we have done.
I have had very little luck going beyond the West side of Knight Is. myself. Think colder water...steep and deep...with maybe some freshwater coming in to the salt nearby and you will find shrimp. The farther South and West you go from Whittier the shrimp number's really taper off, although I have never been out of Valdez for shrimp.
Good luck and bring back some pic's.
Heading out tonight, perhaps plan B is in order-weather looks like its going to s—t. That’s ok, lots of options. Think if we do head way out will spend the night half way, drop the pots pick re-bait and drop in A.M., grab on the way back in hopes know one has pilfered them.

I will be fishing/camping around the southern end (and western) of Knight this summer - are there shrimp to be had or should we run back towards whittier?
Was also thinking of putting the pots down on the W side of montague - guess that might not be such a good idea......
