    Smile P. W. S. black bear ?

    we got a real hog over the weekend but we noticed that the meat had 1000's of very small white cysts? in the entire muscle mass I froze it untill I can figure this out can any one help?. I'll ask my buddy to post a pic of him

    I would not eat it until I had it checked. It could be Moose measels or tichinellosis. Bears carry both. BE CAREFUL.

    thanks for the response ,but it didn't look like any thing listed it would be a shame to have to waste the meat. any one else hear of something like this

    Default pws hog bear

    thanks Brian thats that I needed to get my answer .
    I just got a photo of this bear ,had to be at least 25 yrs old ,he had missing inscissors ,bicuspids ,rotted mollers ,a huge absess on his lower jaw and one upper canine was broken off to the gum the other was two thirds gone ,his ears were grissled scar tissue from a couple decades of being the bad ass on the block ,tells you their are still some oldies running around. I'll post a pic this afternoon

    Looks like a prime hide, too. What did F&G measure the skull at. Looks like it has a pretty big melon for a PWS bear. Well done.
