Default 2nd Annual Kenai King Contest... WINNERS!

    DING DING DING!

We have a winner.... actually three! And without having to wait for ANY nail-biting May 20 tie-breakers!

Congratulations to qkayak for his solitary and exact entry of 69 kings, the official opening count of the 2009 Kenai River Early King Salmon Run! He wins the coveted first place prize package!

Congratulations to Roland on the River for his solitary and second-most exact entry of 64 kings. He wins the second place prize package.

Congratulations to rugersbro for his solitary and third-most exact entry of 62 kings. He wins the third place prize package.

As you can see, it helps to think positive! These were 3 of the 4 highest guesstimates of the contest. (Sorry to kgpcr and Mulchatna who both went over by only 2 kings ) Thanks to all who participated. Till next year.....

eyeFISH Kwiks headed out in Tuesdays mail.

JFC these Kwiks are new-in-the-box rigged with standard tandem VMC trebles, unlike the plug pictured above which was custom-rigged with tandem Matzuo sickle-siwash hooks. Please check local regs before deploying them in your favorite stream.

And remember to share any pics of your success with them on the water!

    Ah, winners.
Time for me to pay my dues.
Please e-mail me your mailing adresses.

Glad to have been a sponsor.

This is newsworth stuff, and could make a good feature in a magazine.
Winners, when your stuff comes in, have a couple of photographs of you taken with your goods. Shoot close, and smile. Send those pictures to me.

    Winter is over.
    Cabin fever is over.
Break-out and do what you do best.

    Me?
I have to wait until mid-August for my AK return...

In my haste, I had forgetten to thank all other sponsors who generously contributed prizes (Especially Iceblue, Yukon, and Bernard) and those who participated. Let's all have successful and safe season.

Sometimes ugliness just brings out the violent, aggressive side of folks. Same way with angry salmon!

Hey... whatever it takes to entice a strike!

Francis. It was a hot plug on the Gulkana River. Will see if Kenai Slider has some pics to share.

Just curious if any of the winners had any success with their Custom Kwiks?

I fished it a few times for kings with out any luck. But then again I wasn't having a whole lot of success with anything else on those days.

Silvers, on the other hand, loved the color.
