    Default Ground Lines for Halibut

I have a SHARC permit for ground lines for halibut but was recently told that anyone can set a skate, but that they are limited to the amount of hooks that they can have, less than what I am allowed, but still able to do so. This is very new to me, anyone heard of this? I think the guy said that he was allowed ten hooks.

I didn't think you could set a skate unless you had a SHARC card.
    Now what ?

Perhaps anyone can set one with 2 hooks, provided they have a sport fishing license? Not sure about it though....

I believe there is an exception to the"closely attended" requirement.

"Personal use" allows a resident to have their one line, with two hooks, attached to a bouy for bottomfish in saltwater.
