Default Any Hits at Bear Stations

Was wondering if anyone has had any hits yet at their bait stations around Baldy?

The unregistered stations are killing them night and day here. I thought I was tracking a 55 gallon barrel being dragged to a new site. till I stepped into a lot of what looked like grape jelly, but was not. So back tracked it to a unregistered bait station. But they hauled the bear out on a snow machine sled, guts and all, which was nice of them.

I'm not near baldy but I just set my site up a few days ago and checked today, I just got "hit". Not much of hit, they didn't get into my barrel very much, just mainly the blueberry nutrigrain bars, they really liked those. Hopefully they will settle in more. I spooked out two cubs off of a tree when I was walking to my site, they were about 200 yards from the site, I made sure I gave them enough room so mama didn't come after me. Talk about a thrill, this is why I love hunting.

Just checked last night after putting the bait out last weekend. One 6'6" bear and that is all. I watched him for an hour, played games with him and got a real good look from all directions. Finally I had to bang the ladder on the way out to get rid of him.

6'6" isn't big enough for you, Dave?

Or...do you just not want it to be over so soon?

My buddies bait wasn't touched, but mine was! We actually have our stands pretty close to each other, so I was a little surprised his wasn't touched.

Sat at mine from Sat night to Sunday morning 10pm-6am, and than again in sun. afternoon to evening. No luck yet but they hit my site hard, they ate all the bait, chewed up my permit sign, crapped everywhere, and even got the sock full of grease in the tree. I need a partner to come with me, because everytime I leave, they go to the bait, I hear them, so if I get a partner to leave I should have bears on the bait in no time. This is a lot of work but very fun!

6' 6" is alright but I already have one that size and two 7'ers. So placing a sixth bear on the wall less than 7' does not make much sence. It gets expensive!!!
