    Default Flying Club @ Birchwood

Well, it's that time of year when young mens' (and womens') thoughts turn to the sky here in Alaska (well to the water too . . ).

The Knik Flying Club, LLC is seeking members to fill out its membership roster. Currently limited to 10 members per aircraft, we have a couple of vacancies. If you're interested in affordable flying opportunities and/or your tailwheel endorsement, a flying club offers the most effective means of achieving those. With two 7GCBC Citabria aircraft with almost 0 time engines (one has less than 100 hrs since OH, the other is starting its' OH on 1 May), there isn't a more affordable way to build taildragger time anywhere. Within a club environment, maintenance scheduling and planning is handled on a professional basis by members that care about having safe and reliable equipment, and we use only FAA mechanics and shops. Aircraft scheduling is done using a web-based service that also provides telephone access to all pilots in the event you're without access to a telephone at www.aircraftclubs.com. Monthly dues are currently $90 per month to pay for insurance (our aircraft are fully insured) and tie down rental. Our hourly rate for the aircraft is $30 per hour to pay for into an engine overhaul fund and for routine maintenance.

If you're interested in purchasing a membership, see the advertisement at Craigslist or visit our website at www.knikflying.org.
