    Default Gray Whales in Sitka

    Hello,

Kinda tourist-like and not great photos but a nice prolonged Sitka visit from a gray and her calf. They have been in the area for a couple of weeks. I have gotten much closer to them on the slope and on st lawrence but they are a rather rare treat here in southeast.

Man, I would be more than happy with those shots! Thats one thing I would like to see and photograph is the big fish.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Nice shot there!

It's hard to describe just how close they have been to shore, to the outsider. Just amazing how much they like that one spot.

Went by there today in the boat (and of course the road, as we live out that way) and definitely didn't get to close, as there were too many people watching from the road.

You've done better than me in the picture department. They show the obvious color difference.

The grays are still in the sound. I got lucky today with the light and weather. Got a few more photos of them.

More whale pictures from the set.
