    Default durabak coating for freighter

    Hey folks,
I'ver ready some of the old threads regarding coatings for the undersides of canoes. I thought I would try to paint on smooth durabak coating on my Hudson Bay freighter to protect the bottom. But they don't ship to AK.
Anyone know of a source where I could get a gallon of smooth durabak to Fairbanks?

    Thanks for any info.

Did you ever try this coating on your boat?

    Default durabak on freighter

Have not tried it yet. Polar supply said they would get me a gallon for about $200. I also had to do a bunch of fiberglass repair to the keels and I ended up finally gelcoating the bottom today! It is not perfect but it is sound.

I will run the canoe as is and see what damage I do. I still think that I will duraback the bottom at some point. Just not this summer. I want to get this thing in the water.
