Browning Hi power hammer
I have a Browning Hi Power in 9mm Luger that I would like to put a spur style hammer on. I was looking in Brownells catalog the other day and they had listed a Standard and a Type II hammer. Are there any differences in these two styles mechanically? Are they interchangable? Anyone have any knowledge on the subject?
You can call them and tell them the model of your Browning Hi Power and they will tell you if it will work. Many years ago I had a Browning Hi Power customized by an Arizona pistol smith. He bobed the exisiting hammer since the slide is racked to chamber a round and we don't carry one in the chamber with the hammer down. It looks good and works fine that way.
