Default Anyone flying in Soldotna area?

Hi all, new to the forum.

Looking for anyone in the Soldotna area that would be willing to let me ride along on any flights in the area! I'm staying in Soldotna for the summer on a helicopter contract...looking to get to know, and hopefully fly with some of the locals. Fully willing to pay my share, of course!

I've been flying helicopters in AK for a few years now, but would like to experience it from the fixed wing side, you know, REAL shorts/softs, gravel strip, beaches etc...whatever you guys do! I have my fixed wing certs and ratings (Comm ASMEL, IFR, taildragger endorsement etc.) but don't get a chance to fly airplanes much anymore.

Not really looking for Instruction per se, just want to ride along and see how the veterans do it. I would rather it be in a taildragger, as I am looking to buy a Cessna 140 if things go like I plan, but I'll take anything...floats too!

I have two days off next week (May 5,6), anyone have a lead?

My name is Aaron 337-489-6834 or ajbart76(at)hotmail.com

    Thanks all!

Do you have your float-rating yet?

No...not yet, thats next on my list!

If the cessna 140 that I'm looking to buy doesn't pan out, I'll probably try to get my float rate this summer.

I only get 2 days off every 12 days, but I think I could get that done in about 4 days...weather permitting.

I did go flying today with one of the local pilots in his PA-12, we landed at Kasilof and he trusted me enough to let me sit up front and do the landing back in Soldotna. A great flight with a great guy! Thanks again Shorty!!!!
