Default Pictures of the Susitna From the Ramp

Here are some updated pictures of the Susitna River.

We have received plenty of phone calls during this past week, but like probably every other year, the river won't be ready until some time in the first week of May. We are hoping the expected warmer temperatures and sun over the next few days will assist in drying out the parking lot. We will have to be doing some major work on the lot and it is not in very good shape to be driving or leaving trailers parked at this point.

    See everyone soon!!

    Thumbs up Thursday night update!

    As of 6:30 pm Thursday-

The Susitna is running in both directions in front of the launch, however there is ice still in the launch area. When a pilot did a fly over 11:00 am Thursday morning he reported that there is an ice jam before the Deshka River in the islands area. The Deshka River is running, and the Yentna is still frozen over. The ice went out at Skwentna at 5:00 am this morning, and there is still plenty of ice up the Susitna that is yet to breakaway. We are still several days from boating, however we imagine a few brave ones will try to investigate further this weekend.

The repaired/new concrete at the bottom of the ramp looks like it made it through the winter and users should be very happy with the results!
