Default Design for personal-use crab pots?

Does anyone have a design for building one of these? I cannot afford to buy ready-made ones but could probably whip something up with what I have laying around the shop. Anyone ever built one of these?

If you can't afford a Danielson $25 folding trap, how can you afford to go out in a boat to pull 'em?

A little touch of the Scottish there laddie?

What are you looking for? Dungy pots or King pots? BIG difference in materials.

tanner pots are a 4'x4' pyramid about 2' high, with an 18" circular opening at the top. you could weld one up with re-bar and buy the netting, escape rings and other stuff.
bet it would still cost $60 or so... and full shot of line will set you back a few bucks too....

Living in Soldotna, what are you going to do with dungy pots? There aren't any dungeness seasons open anywhere near you that I'm aware of. The tanner fishery in homer seems to be your best bet.
