Insanely thick at 20 Mile yesterday. Under the bridge, we worked for 2 hours to get 5 gallons. We moved to the salt and got 20 gallons in 20 minutes. It was crazy!!!

3 hours and three of us caught over 40gallons i'm guessing. 100 yards above the railroad bridge today. Actually probably closer to 60 gallons

If a dipnetter dips a fish and there is no one around to see/hear it, Did he really dip?

Does any one know had far up the Susitna they Are? I took the kids to Willow and could not find any. The water was extremely low though. We ended up walking up to the mouth of Willow after we tried down at the pullout on the Su and found the water was insanely low.

Does any one know how long it takes for them to get from Deshka to Willow Creek?

Typically they show up at Willow near the end of the month and first of next month. Run patterns sometimes keep them from coming into shore; seems like its important to start checking daily as soon as reports start coming in from Deshka.

We tried about a dozen spots between Warren Ames and Swiftwater and didn't see a single fish anywhere. Locals told us that they either hadn't shown up yet or moved through so fast nobody knew about it. Even the park ranger at the bridge hadn't seen more than a couple caught.

Stopped at Twentymile for 30 minutes on the way home, mid-outgoing tide, and got probably 20 gallons easily.

I was at willow yesterday evening. Nothing yet. I am curious where do people fish hooligan there these days? It has been a few years since I fished there and the hole I used to catch them at has washed away.

I went to the confluence with the Deshka Tuesday and nothing, even went a couple miles downstream from there. They were not up that high then, so going to try again this weekend. If they are in I will let you know.

I stopped by today(Thursday 6/1, not to be confused with Friday 6/2 which is in the future) and it was also dead as can be. Was there maybe 40 minutes and neither me or the 3 other groups I saw got anything.

Obviously, way too late for this year, but I was told that Willow had a good run of Hooligan and also wondering about Fish Creek, Little Sue, and others for next year. Could anyone please tell me where, when, and how good any ofthese places, or others in the Mat - Su Valley are? Geez I have lived here since 1977 and never heard of Hooligan here locally.

    Thanks in advance,

Big sue / willow do have a run, hard thing is to time it to be there when the fish are there, it is about 50 miles up from the salt ,
if you hit it right you will get all you want that is the problem as I see it, SID
