They've had one in Homer for quite some time now (drawing permit only), but that's all I know of. Nothing of the sort came up about this during the Board of Game meetings, so I doubt it's going to happen.

Depending on where you live, you should also check out the Feds Regs. Lots of perky things happen on the refuge, for the locals.

    Default cow moose hunt

it will be happening, the AC has to approve antlerless hunts, and we pretty much rubber stamp it as long as our bio has the numbers to back it up.
there are 50 permits, and success is pretty consistently 50%.
THERE IS VERY LITTLE PUBLIC LAND IN THE HUNT AREA.
F&G will tell you that, and provide maps of where you can hunt, but it is a BIG DEAL down here, lots of trespass issues with the cow hunt in particular, and there always seems to be some dummazz who whacks a moose at a school bus stop (while the kids are there) or in someones yard by their swingset.
on the public land you will be accompanied by all the local moose hunters too... the first years we had the hunt it was in november and that was great, but alas the aforementioned dummazzes made such a bad impression it was moved to the general hunt time frame.

You took the words right out of my mouth Dave.
