Default Alaska Fly Fishers Spring Seminar- worth attending?

I am fairly new to fly fishing. Been out a bit and caught a few trout, but I honestly have no idea what I am doing when it comes to fly fishing.

I saw that the AFF has a spring series on fly fishing and was wondering if any one here has ever taken the course and if they though it would be worthwhile for a novice?

Course is held on Mondays for the next few weeks.

Default I think it is worth it

I went last year and I think it was worth it. They give you a pretty thorough rundown of the basics of fly-fishing in Alaska. They give hands on instruction with knot-tying, fly casting, etc. Plus it is a great group of people who are very knowledgable and fun to hang around.

Anyone want to post a link to the class?
It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.

AFF is a great org, I learned a lot from them in my youth
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

Looks like they have not updated the site for this years class.

Here is the info from the flyer I got at the Sportsman Show:

Location- BP Energy Center- behind the BP building on Benson and the Seward Highway.

    Time is from 6:30-8:30

April 13th- Basic gear and knot tying.
    April 20th- Fly tying
April 27th- Panel discussion with AFF members and Fish and Game biologist on fishing opportunities and species in Alaska
    May 11th- Casting clinic.

Cost- $30 General Public, $35 family, $20 AFF members, or $15 per individual session.

I will be there and as an added miracle, my wife wants to go with me. Not sure if she is wanting to go due to interest or just to be with me away from the kids.

Also AFF memberships are pretty cheap ($15? maybe $30) I'd reccomend signing up, it gets you discounts at Mt. View and Possibly WWA (they gave 15% off when it was rod and reel, way back in the day)

Membership is $20 for a family.

Last weeks session was fun and I am looking forward to the fly tying demonstration this week.
