    Default Hard times for Ptarmigans

They are eating the bark off the little willows because of all the ice and snow on the tundra.
They are starting to flock up but no big ones yet.
Also staying in the trees to try and keep out of the wind.
Might have to try going up river where the tundra is bare.

I know where you are talking about and will take a ride in a day or 2 to look.
Up river does not have as much snow as down river. At least behind napaskiak/kwethluk.
