Default Woodland Caribou/Selkirks of Washington and Idaho...

Couldn't say how one got clear down/over to Denver, couldn't say for sure that there's any left in IdaWashiMont, either, but there were about 35 natives awhile back, and they've been augmenting the herd with releases for several years.

    Default caribou

Last i heard the Idaho/Canada caribou numbered around 50. It could have came from there.

He's probably one of those poor caribou from up on the haul road who was tired of being chased around and was looking for a new home. I wonder if he had any arrows sticking in him?

Remember reading about a 5 pt bull elk that wandered from North Central Montana all the way to St Joseph Missouri (maybe St Louis). Sounded like the animal followed the Milk River and then the Missouri River the whole way. It had a radio collar, but hardly anyone saw it.

Elk are farely rare from Eastern North Dakota to Missouri.

It was reported that the caribou had a ear tag with a #4 on it. Sounds like it came from a game farm.

Or perhaps....Dirtbag high fence/gamefarm outfitter buys caribou for lazy client, sneaks it into Colorado without proper clearance from either DOW or Department of Agriculture, caribou makes unscheduled exit and Dirtbag keeps very, very quiet.
