    Default Kicker for SeaSport 2400XL

I have a SeaSport 2400XL powered by a 250HP outboard on a swim platfrom and I'm wondering if I need a 25" shaft or can get by with a 20" shaft kicker motor.

Are you mounting it on the swim platform also, or next to it on a transom mount that goes up and down? ( I took a swell over the engine cover from a ferry once and mine is a long shaft on a mount that goes up and down, Sea Sport also.)

We have a 25 on our XL and in semi rough water you can still occassionly hear some cavitation as the boat goes up and down. I would not go any shorter than a 25.

You won't regret going with a 25" shaft.

    Ditto, the longer the better..
On my 2400 Explorer the kicker is on a hydraulic lift and I usually end up dropping it way down to keep the prop in the water.

    Default Going with a 25".

Thanks to all who responded. Sorry for the slow response from me. I'm new to the Forum and still figuring it out.

I was planning on putting it on the integral kicker mount built into the swim platform. I'm concerned though if it will drag when tilted up while I'm getting on step.
