    Default 416 Ruger?

Well I know several dealers have been selling them now and most are gone as quickly as they come in. I am still being told even by Ruger directly that Hornady still is not shipping ammo since they have recalled them all.

This said... to the one's that have bought the gun, have you shot it yet, and or can you give your opinion on em?

    Thanks,

    Tony

Any word on why the ammo is being recalled.

    Facts only please, no guessing...

Default Neck casing catching during chambering

When I met with the Ruger rep last weekend at Chimo's that is what they told me. Can't say it's fact but given he is the Ruger rep, I wouldn't have any reason to not believe him. And I was told it was only with the soft point's not the solid's but Hornady recalled everything to make sure.

In that case, I'd probably opt for calling Hornady and finding out from the source.

Makes you wonder. I think I will wait until next year when somebody else comes out with a different .416. Savage, Henry, T/C, and Marlin have yet to come out with their versions.
Are you as unimpressed with my signature block as I am with yours?

It's not the rifle that's the problem, it's the ammo.

Hornady may have prepped some hot loads to achieve the 20" veloicties that they claim, we'll never know.

I was at Sportsmans Warehouse down here in AZ yesterday, the gun counter employee confirmed the ammo recall for what ever that's worth.

    Default checked Hornady' website out

Still say's you purchase ammo from a dealer. So looks like they are selling some BS. I responded asked them about it, we'll see how long it takes to respond.

I think I need one of these. Not sure why, but I think I do. Probably w/ a 1.5-4 Trijicon accupoint mounted on it with a removable scope. That should pretty much fold the alpine black bears I hunt in half. Are the ruger rings designed to be able to pull the scope w/ out re zero?

I'm pretty sure I need one too. Not sure what I would do with that monster but just having it seems like the right thing to do.

Either a Barnes TSX or a Nosler Partition shot out of that canon would take care of anything this planet has to offer. Most likely over kill for anything north of Africa or just right for a big brownie if you can hold it for a well placed shot.

I'm not sure if Ruger claims the rings hold zero when you R&R. My other Rugers don't hold zero when R&R the scope with rings attached, close but not perfect.
