Default 2 Fishermen, 5 hours Saturday, Mirror Lake, No Fish

We had classic rookie performance on Mirror Lake Saturday. Fished in two spots, tried bait and jigging lures--no bites. It was a beautiful day, though. A cold breeze, but nice blue skies and sunshine. Beat the heck out of a good day at work!

I have had several of those days this winter.
It's always hard trying to figure out new water, even harder if there are no maps available (like most of the lakes where I live).

    Thumbs up

Just remember that a bad day of fishing couldn't be nearly as bad as a good day in Iraq...lol. I'd trade anything to be fishing right now.

I came REAL CLOSE last September when I came face to face with a 1000# Brownieat 10 yards!!!!!! Being mauled by a 1000# bear would suck!!!! Thankfully she was totally cool about the situation.

There are any number of circumstances where you could have a bad day fishing.
I remember a fishing trip to the Florida Keys back in '93 that was a pretty bad day (not for me but someone else). A husband and wife were out trolling. The husband at the helm and the wife down on the back deck. She had a shiney necklace on and a large Cuda jumped out of the ocean and took a huge chunk out of her chest where the neclace used to be.

I would consider this to be a bad day fishing.

Default Clear day vs cloudy days

Maybe it's me but I seem to catch more fish on the cloudy days than the clear days. Anyone else think this?I was at Clunie on Friday. Beautiful day, sunshine, and I watched as they would only mouth the roe, shrimp, mikes marshmallows in cheese, garlic, cheese and garlic, sheesh it was frustrating. I know I just about hit the roof a couple times trying to set the hook and have it come flying out of the water. But it was till better than sitting at home.
