Default Shrimp Season is coming - what's your largest catch?

I was just wondering what some of the largest catches have been for shrimping in one weekend? Can you post some pic's or videos of that great catch and inspire all for the upcoming season. How about a pic of the largest shrimp you have caught?
The 2009 season will be here before you know it - are you READY

No pics of it but I think our best weekend was around 1000 shrimp caught. Also set the record for most eaten in one weekend at 500

No pics of totals, and I don't count them, but filled 7 1/2, gallon freezer bags with tails only. Each bag weighs about 6 pounds or so. 40-45 pounds of tails I would guess. That was pulling the pots about every 4-6 hours continuously except at night.

Largest catch was a rock. This rock was so big I could not get my pot up.

Do you do a "guide" service? I had never thought about needing a fish billy for shrimp before - until your pic!

    Default Catching Smiles

Great job lattitude! The only thing better than that catch is the smiles on those faces.Love to see the kids out and having fun. My best moments ever are with my kids (10 and 12) and their friends being deckhands!

Your information says that you are from Soldotna? Where did you shrimp that the season was open? South Central does not open until April 15th.

Just curious where you were able to shrimp.

I think he is referring to those particular days this summer, not this week.

    Default Just a little

I see the 2008 now. Just a little confusing with no date information and the snow in the background.

    Default Great pic's Lattitude

Those are some pretty good numbers for a weekend. That's one special
shrimp to get that big - I am sure your kids had a blast and will remember that weekend for the rest of the lives.

Last spring we were out 3 days pulling pots about every 4-6 hours and got about 50 lbs of tails and had a great time harvesting them.

Yes this was our best catch of 2008. We shrimped out of Whittier during June of 2008.

Still new at shrimping but it has become my favorite PWS past time. We have been more productive every trip and I can't wait for summer to try out the latest schemes I have been pondering all winter. Best haul in a trip so far was 31 pounds of bagged tails.
