Weather History

Snow Depth At Landing Parking Lot:

From about 1:00 am Thursday morning we have received about 2.5 inches of wet snow by 10:45 am. We have laid out the left side of the center snow burm into 8 rows. Please assist us by parking correctly.

Trail Conditions:

2/19 Trails continue to be bumpy in areas, then nice and smooth in other areas. Be aware of bumps coming out of nowhere. There has been a lot of freighting taking place over the past week, so the trails have been packed. Overflow is beginning to show in places due to the warm weather. Stay on the trails, chances are good you will run into overflow once you leave the trails. There has been approximately one foot of new snow at the Yentna over the past few days.

Trail has been well used and is somewhat washboard in places. With the fresh snow contrast can be a problem but overall the trails are very nice. Be careful on the Deshka X-over trail as there have been several moose getting out of the deeper snow and onto the trail. Some thin ice at grass island (mile 10 Deshka River).

Lodge Reports:

The trail is 35 miles from start to the TalVista. It is 4' packed snow and beautiful. Most of the trail is marked, stay in main trail and you won't veer off in the wrong direction. If you come across the landing strip, Kenny Hughes place, stay off strip and respect his trails. This is the halfway point.
