    Default Steese Highway/Coldfoot spring bears

Hey folks, I have a question. I am probably not going to be able to set up a bear bait station this year. I'm thinking about camping for a couple (4-5) days either on the Steese or up toward Coldfoot. Looking at the spring time. Any thoughts on time, area of preferance etc?? Thanks a ton all!

Both the Steese and Coldfoot areas tend to draw the bears mostly in the fall when they are the berries. I would think that you would have better luck on the Denali Hwy. A lot of bears in the area and the moose and caribou could use the help. A few members have places along the hwy and will usually point bear hunters in the right direction.

    Good Luck

That makes sense. Thanks! I may change my direction that way then.
