    Question Gun safe storage

Has anyone used the velcro pistol storage for the inner door of a gun safe? If so will they hold a larger pistol?
Some of the products out look like junk, that I would not trust to hold up.
Any input would be great, thanks

The Browning ones will hold the heaviest handguns you can find. The problem I am having though is that after time the carpet on the safe door starts to sag.

    Default Velcro

I also have the browning version. As for big pistols, I have a Ruger 8" .454 and a 15" .375 T/C Scoped, on the wall. They have never let loose in 7-8 years. Of course it takes more than 1 velcro strap to hold both of these up. I think you could just make some if you know someone that sews.

Instead of doing the velcro thing - I puchased a peg board, then cut it to fit the door of my safe. I then got some rubber spacers and some plastic dry wall sinkers.

I mounted the peg board away from the door enough with the rubber spacers, secured w/ the drywall sinkers, so that I could use a peg board hook kit from Lowe's or one of them.

To keep from marring the finish on the trigger guards of the weapons, I purchased some clear vinyl tubing and placed them over the hooks.

With this, I am able to get about 10-15 pistols on the door, after a little trial and error in setting them up so that they don't interfere w/ the door's closing.

I would post a pic - but it looks like I'm not smart enough!

I prefer the pegs for hanging handguns as on these Armor Vault safes.

I'm jealous too. I don't have enough guns to facilitate a safe.

    Thats a nice safe.

I have a small safe. My wife wanted it since we had a kid on the way. It is only a 10 gun safe though. I usually keep my hand guns on the top shelf, but would love to get some peggs. Can I get some of those to put in my safe or is it some thing that comes with the safe?

I'd also be interested in a retro-fit for pegs....

If you figure it out, post it here and also in the "Make it Yourself" section!

Murphy, I noticed there are no bolts in your door. How does the safe lock??
