    Default Adjustable field glasses

Saw an ad on tv for these last night. I am surprised that they are just now coming out with something like this. Rifle scopes have been adjustable for years, why not binoculars??

    Default Leica Duovid

FWIW, Leica has been making their Duovid for a while. The question of why there aren't more companies making them is a good one though.

Reliability is usually the problem. Most optics companies have tried to make an adjustable powered bino at some point over the years. Though very effective in riflescopes and spotters, the ability to create a reliable adjustable powered bino has eluded nearly all companies. If a quality abjustable is created it usually comes at a high cost, like the Leica Duovid. Will be interesting to see if Leupold's new adjustable will hold up and perform.
