2009 hunts only
This is one of my favorite features of the site, as I love seeing the collection build throughout the year and the transition from one set of species to another. Our late winter moose, bison and musk ox...leading to the spring bear...and then into sheep and caribou...and back to moose, goat, bears, and more. Let's get this new collection started!

Here is the bison we got in February. Finally getting around to posting it. Had a great hunt. These animals are a lot harder than everyone thinks. Diane was great to work with!
I agree with you 'fk 107'. These are much more difficult to get close to in the later months. I should have taken one back in November! Oh well, it's meat in the freezer! Now, another 10 years to wait.....
I shot this guy on 12 May 09 near Fairbanks. He will not break any records but I am happy with him. I shot him with a Browning A-bolt 7mm Rem Mag in the left shoulder and he stumbled 100 yds and fell into a slew and drowned/bled out. We threw him on the atv and winched him up a tree to clean him. Because it was late, we took him to my garage and skinned him where we had light and no mosquitos. He hung outside last night and is now at the meat processors being turned into ham, bacon and sausage. The hide measured about 5' 9" and is already being turned into a rug at Harter's in Fairbanks. Great way to send me out of Alaska since the Army has decided to move me to Arizona this fall, just before moose season. Can't wait to re-up to come back. I will post pics of the rug after it is complete this fall/winter.
Shot this boar after 9 days of hunting on Kodiak db251 not real big but had a decent hide. Had 28 bear sightings with 15- 18 different bears. There wasn't a drop of rain for 14 day while I was on the Island!!
Out for a week, four bears for four hunters. One shot from the tent door, other shot in camp, eventful week with bears in camp. Here are a few of the pics.
